CITY RISE recently provided comprehensive traffic control, course monitoring, and field supervision services for the 49th annual San Francisco Marathon, helping support safe and efficient operations throughout one of the Bay Area’s largest running events.
The event brought together more than 30,000 athletes for a race weekend featuring 5K, 10K, half Marathon, full Marathon and even a 52.4-mile ultramarathon. With thousands of participants navigating city streets and iconic San Francisco landmarks, careful planning and coordinated traffic control were essential to keeping the event moving safely.
CITY RISE began preparations ahead of race day, deploying signage and equipment throughout the city to support traffic management and event communications. On event day, crews mobilized at 3:00 AM to have road closures in place by 5:00 AM, with operations continuing until approximately 3:00 PM.
